GLASS ART FEATURE WALL

Float Glass Design were invited to submit a design for an Art Glass Installation for The Natural History Museum in 2019 and we won the commission. We created a 10m glass feature wall in the entrance of the museum which is now a permanent feature. "Terra Fragilis" was based on the first geological map of Great Britain created by William Smith over 200 years ago.

In this art glass commission we pushed the creative and technical boundaries of our kiln processes to produce this stunning glass feature wall which had to be toughened and safety laminated because of its prominent location in a public space.
